"Have a break, have a KitKat" is a phrase known worldwide thanks to advertising. And now it takes on a new, completely literal meaning.
KITKAT® PANAMA, in collaboration with OGILVY COLOMBIA, has developed a completely unique packaging for KitKat sweets that allows you to truly pause your digital life. After all, even when we take a break, we're not really resting; we're still checking social media on our phones, checking the news, messaging someone, or playing games. This digital noise is constantly with us, and our nervous system is essentially forced to constantly process information, which has many unpleasant consequences.
The new KitKat packaging acts as a miniature "Faraday cage," blocking all signals coming to the phone inside: mobile network, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS. Simply remove the KitKat from its original packaging, place your phone inside, and seal the packaging tightly. And nothing will distract you from enjoying your favorite sweets and contemplating the world around you.
The new bag consists of several layers: a polypropylene top layer, a conductive metal layer, and copper and nickel layers. It is complemented by a precision sealing mechanism that closes the bag. The bag is reusable and designed for one-year use. Afterwards, the packaging materials can be separated and recycled.
The first presentations of the new packaging at concerts and among students were very promising. The new packaging was well-received and went viral on social media among young people. So, we're looking forward to this innovation coming to Europe so we can try and test it ourselves.
